  • Job Details
  • A hospital in California is looking for an experienced L/D nurse for a travel contract.
  • The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN, and CA License.
    • Job Requirements
    • Must have 2 full years of experience in L/D
    • Hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN, and CA License
    • C-section experience required: must have experience with circulating, scrubbing preferred
    • Must have 4 years experience or more in L&D
    • Must also have experience with high risk deliveries and be familiar with pitocin, mag sulfate, insulin drips, etc.
    • Travel experience is preferred
      • Schedule Information
      • Contract length: 13 weeks
      • Shifts: 12 hrs 7-7
      • Weekend Requirement: Every other
      • Call Requirement: Call is required - what is required varies, 30 min response time
      • Holidays: one major and one minor
      • Floor specific orientation: 3 shifts on unit

        • # triage beds: 8 beds
        • Certs: NRP, BLS, ACLS, Fetal monitoring (advanced) all required

        • Floating: L&D floats to antepartum
          • Additional Details
          • Unit: L&D/PP - Perinatal

          • Ratios: they follow AWOHNN guidelines

          • OB/Neonataologist in house: OB attending 24 hrs
          • IV Team: No
          • RT 24/7: Yes
          • Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
          • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: 20 weeks and above, high risk - blood pressure, multiples, diabetes, no prenatal care, Substance abuse, etc.
